My roommate and I went camping in Spanish Fork Canyon. I think it should be called Spanish Death Canyon. Not because you die like a Spaniard but because the road is the most dangerous in the world (if not the world, then at least in Utah) and you risk death with every mile.
We (me, roommate, and a couple friends) met up with our friend's friends. We followed them through the Death Canyon and met up with our friend's friends' friends. At the trailer home. The trailer home also had some campers in the front yard. I really wish I knew the story of the trailer home and it's campers. But I don't.
So I think we (me, roommate, and couple of friends) must have smelled or something because, seriously, whenever we tried to socialize with the others, they would talk to us for a few minutes and then slowly they'd all leave, leaving us four somewhere to figure out why we were abandoned.
The BEST part of the weekend was four-wheeling. When the four-wheelers and dirt bikes were first busted out, yes, they were busted out, we were all taking little jogs around the block. Yeah, big fun. BUT, after being abandoned and then rejoined by the group, we discovered we were about to head out on a big adventure through the Uintas. Now that's BIG FUN.
We all paired up on our chosen vehicles and headed out. Let me tell you, those Uintas are dang pretty. We rode through those mountains for a few hours and I didn't get enough! We eventually stopped and wandered through the trees, picked some flowers, chased some butterflies, and ate some Star Crunches.
Then we rode back. The ride back may have been one of the longest ever. I had to pee. I had to pee sooo bad that every time we went over a bump I thought I might lose it all. I was so close to asking the driver to pull over because I would rather pee in the bushes than all over my friend and his bike. Then I found out that we only had 10 more minutes before we got back, so I held it. But wow, that was a long ride.
I want to talk more about the mountains but I don't know if words can describe it. The view from the top was GORGEOUS! I mean, so pretty. The Uintas. I only know of one person who could create something so beautiful. And he's a great guy.
