Friends and Family...and Christmas!

This weekend was a really good weekend! I feel like I'm finally getting to know other people in my ward and I don't always depend on old friends to have a good time. I have made a lot of new friends and I'm so glad that I have. Friends are great! I've learned about the importance of friends in my Mind/Body Health class that I'm in this semester. Being lonely sucks and having a good social support is essential to avoid it.

We all have days where we feel alone but having friends can quickly change the momentum of a day like that. Even if it's just sitting around doing nothing, doing nothing with friends is much better than doing nothing with no one. I've been able to step out of my comfort zone a lot more recently and I'm so happy I have.

This is the last week of school. Three days left! Then finals start :(. I am not looking forward to finals. Luckily only one of them is comprehensive. I have my ballet finals this week. The practical final is tomorrow and the written final is on Thursday. After that final I will be completely done with two classes! Then I'll have four finals to take, and two are on the very last day. But I get to leave for home right after they are over. I am so excited to go home. I haven't seen my family for so long and I can't wait to spend two weeks with them and it's Christmas!

Christmas is the best time of year. Everyone is so nice and happy and excited for life. I'm trying to remember the good things about Christmas time even though I'm at the end of a crazy semester and things are just getting crazier! I think one of the reasons it's hard is because I'm away from my family. Growing up, everything about Christmas has involved my family so it's not the same when we're far away from each other. Watching White Christmas just isn't the same without the family singing along to every song. I feel like I'm going to have to redo every tradition with my family when I get home, whether or not I've done it in Utah without them. The few days before Christmas will be busy!

Well, I'm counting down the days until I'll be home, and until then I have a paper, a project and five finals! Wish me luck. Merry Christmas, I mean, it's the Christmas season; what can I do to serve you?
