Day 3

Let me just finish this up real quick:

The third day began with another run before sunrise. But this time I went up the canyon. This was so fun because the weather was perfect and I got to explore :). There is a river that comes down the canyon so I decided to follow it up as much as I could. Basically I got my feet wet a lot and then on my way back I was almost charged by a group of cows.

When I got back, Grandpa took us on a tour of his property: what it used to be, what it is, and what he's going to do with it. He has so many cool plans. He loves his projects.

Then, we played a game with Grandma. I was telling her about my job search and how badly I want to find something I love. Grandma and Grandpa served a mission in the employment center so I knew she had much knowledge to bestow. Grandma asked us a bunch of questions about our hobbies, knowledge, and favorite things. By eliminating all but three of the things, we all determined what our dream jobs would be. Mine: family camp counselor in the great outdoors.

After lunch we packed up and headed out to Mt. Pleasant to Magdalene's. My great-grandpa served a mission in Hawaii in 1919-1921 and had a trunk full of letters, pictures, and souvenirs from Hawaii. I was telling my mom how I would like to have a trunk for my keepsakes and she asked my grandpa about his dad's trunk. We went to Magdalene's to get the trunk and see what was inside. After looking through most of the stuff we decided that I'd take the trunk and the stuff and create a digital documentation of everything in the trunk. It was so cool to look through all the old pictures and documents that my great-grandparents had kept. My mom and I left Grandpa and Magdelene to head back to Provo.

The drive back to Provo was hot and windy but I loved talking to my mom about everything I learned about my family history. We got back to Provo and it was so fun to spend time with my mom. We just got to hang out in Provo and went to a few different places. Then my mom spent the night and I took her to the airport in the morning.

I love my mom. She is one of the greatest women I know. She is so smart and full of love. She always knows what to say to make me feel better. I swear, she has all the answers. She is a great example to me and her testimony is apparent through all her actions. She is such a great mom and I hope someday that I can be as good and sweet and smart and strong as her.
