Three years ago, I worked a the Wilkinson Student Center in Support Services. Don't ask what I did, it's complicated. But I got the job because my sister, Amy, worked there for a summer and was going back to her old job. They needed a new person and that person was me. I started training at the end of the summer before school started.
Amy spent many hours training me. It was fun to be part of her work life for those few days. I met her co-workers and could imagine what it would be like to be in that office for that summer: tons of fun. They/we listened to music back in our corner of the office suite that we shared with Campus Scheduling and we were the DJs.
Well, apparently Amy and Shauna (another employee) and quite a list of favorite songs. One of those songs was One Year Six Months by Yellowcard. Yellowcard?? You listen to Yellowcard?? Honestly, I was a little surprised that they were so obsessed by a Yellowcard song. But who was I but a lowly employee-in-training?
When they became obsessed with a song, they were obsessed. They listened to this song over and over. And not just for an hour or two; they listened to it ALL DAY. But this was ok by me, because as soon as I heard this song, I loved it. It was the best song in the world. I was glad to listen to it all day. I really mean all day.
I just found this song on my ipod. That is the beauty of listening to an ipod on random, you find so many treasures! As soon as I heard this song, I thought of Amy and those few days training at a new job. It was a good memory.
