I'm obessed with the song Royals. Like weirdly obsessed. But here's the story:
I'm obsessed with the band Walk Off The Earth (not weirdly obsessed), and over the summer they posted a new video of a song called Royals. I had been in Cambodia for the last couple months, and didn't know anything about this song so I thought it was an original. I became obsessed with it. Then a week or so later I heard the original by Lorde on the radio and was very confused. Then my sisters told me I was crazy and that the WOTE version was a cover. I quickly fell in love with the original, and still love the WOTE version. Now there are like a million covers, but this one is still my favorite.
Here's the first version of Royals I ever heard:
My brother, Trevor, had a birthday last week and boy did we celebrate. I am a very strong proponent of birthday celebrations and making them last as long as possible. Trevor's birthday week was bookended with parties, so I'd say we did a pretty good job.
Last night we had a big birthday bonfire for the birthday boy. Trevor created the biggest s'more I've ever seen and promptly devoured it. I captured this moment. You're welcome.

On a more serious and loving note, I want to talk about Trevor. Trevor is my only brother and it's a good thing too because I don't think anyone could be a better brother. Trevor is such an incredible person and he is such a good example to me. He is strong and smart and funny and kind and loving. He treats everyone with love and always makes people feel appreciated. He is really good and pointing out the good in everyone and he makes me want to be a better person.
We also have a lot of fun together. We can really make each other laugh and we get each other's jokes. I know I can always get a good laugh out of Trevor with my best fake laugh. It is such a blessing to be in Provo at the same time and I love that we get to hang out so much!
