New year, new you. I mean me, I mean job. New job.

Oh my gosh you guys, this blog.

When I'm rich I'm gonna hire someone to blog for me. And also shop for me. I'll do all the cooking and cleaning because I love it so much. hahahahahahahaha nope. I'm hiring people for that too. Don't worry.

Anyway, back to this blog, and how I haven't posted regularly in so long. I should set a goal or something. It's the beginning of the year after all.

Who am I kidding? I haven't even worked out in 2015, how can I expect myself to blog regularly? (It might sound like my life is a mess, but it's not. Unless you count the basket of clean clothes I haven't put away for a week.)

What I'm trying to say is that it's 2015, and my life, once again, has changed since my last post. Here's what's up:

I got a job promotion! That's pretty much all that has changed, but it's big news people, BIG NEWS.

Here's the story:

So we all know about the job I got a few months ago, working part-time as an assessment tech at Orriant. In December I got an email from the company that went out to all of the techs, informing us that there was a part-time position opening up in the customer support department of the company. It would be 15-20 hours a week, and would allow a tech to keep working as a tech as well as pick up some more hours during the week. It was just what I was looking for! I had just started thinking about finding something else part-time to supplement my current position, so this email was an answer to a prayer.

My interview was scheduled for the next Monday, with training potentially later that week. I went in to my interview, and things felt really good right away. I interviewed with two people: one from customer support, and one from the health coaching staff (the job included a little of both). As I was interviewing one of the interviewers said, "We are also looking to hire a coach, would you like to be considered for that position as well?" I said that of course I would. I was planning on applying for a coaching position as soon as one opened up in the spring, so to be considered that soon was another answer to a prayer!

We finished the interview, and they let me know that they would be making the decision on the customer support job later that day, and that if they wanted to do the second interview for the coaching position that it would happen later that week.

I didn't hear anything that day. Or the next. And I was losing hope quickly. On Wednesday I got an email that they wanted to do the second interview for the coaching position on Friday! I was pumped and started praying my guts out that it would go well. The second interview was over the phone (all of the coaching is done over the phone so they want to make sure you can handle a phone conversation), and it went really well. Because it was the week before Christmas they were trying to get through the process as quickly as they could, and they told me they would let me know later that day.

I had a tech meeting in the office that afternoon, and while I was in the meeting, the coaching manager pulled me out of the meeting, pulled me into an office, and said what I had been wanting to hear: "We want you as a coach, and this is our official offer to you." We had a short conversation about the position and the hours, etc., and she said she needed my official response by Monday afternoon. I was thrilled. I almost started crying out of happiness.

I emailed my official acceptance for the job Sunday night. I went home to Iowa for the holidays, and when I came back I was ready to start. I started January 5, and have been working my butt off to build up my client base. The job is tiring, but it's good, and it's an answer to so many prayers.
