As most people know, I complain about the EFY kids a lot. They always seem to be in the way and they think they own the campus. They do NOT own the campus. This is my campus and I am being very kind to let them wander around in their adolescence. I know I shouldn't let them bother me so much but they do. I don't like that I have to change my normal walking route home to avoid the masses of teenagers and I don't like when they monopolize the Cougareat on Thursdays because that is my long day and I just want some lunch.

Well, as much as I dislike EFY kids, something changed yesterday. I was walking in to the Wilkinson Center and a group of 4 EFY boys were coming out. I quickly swerved to the left to go in a different door and as I approached the door, one of the boys stepped over and opened the door for me. He was not being obnoxious or cocky about it. It was a simple gesture that made be really happy. I still don't like the EFY kids in general but it's good to know that some of those kids are actually cool.

Another thing that I complain about is the cat that lives in Chatham Towne. There is a couple that lives a few doors down from me and they own a couple of cats. Well, for some reason they let their cats wander around and they are annoying. I don't know if they are actually annoying animals or if I am just annoyed because they are cats and I do not like cats. Sometimes, if I am in a really good mood, I will pet the cat. Usually, I just avoid eye contact and pretend the cat isn't there.

Today, I walked out my door to go to work and as I was locking my door, one of the cats came over towards the steps, meowing. It started doing that weird rub against things thing that cats do, I don't really get it. But the cat kept looking at me and meowing and then came up the steps and started rubbing against my foot and licking my leg. I figured it really needed some attention and so I decided to be nice and pet the cat. I bent down to pet it and it was being really friendly so I kept petting it for another minute. Teh cat looked a little disheveled and I figured it had been outside for a while. I don't think that that is such a great idea, being outside for so long because then the cat bit me! Yes, the cat bit me. It didn't draw any blood but I felt personally offended. I tried to give the lonely cat some attention and it bites me! I will not be giving that cat any attention any time soon. That cat almost had my good opinion and I even felt bad for it for a minute but then it screwed up and bit me. All I did was feel bad for a lonely cat and give it some love. I will not fall for that again.
