She pretty much looked like that on Tuesday night. I don't have a camera right now so I couldn't take pictures when I was there watching her live in concert.
Highlights:
- The band's entrance was to Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. They all came out in black hooded cloaks and then got the crowd to finish the song with them.
- Ingrid told us that Salt Lake City has been her favorite crowd since last year, so we had a lot to live up to.
- She sang an incredible version of REM's song Nightswimming, a capella, with a looping pedal. (Click here for a similar performance).
- We got to hear a couple new songs that I'm sure she has only performed for her Salt Lake City crowd.
- The band covered Toxic by Britney Spears. That was great.
- Instead of leaving the stage and making us cheer ourselves to death for an encore, Ingrid explained that we would all save time if they just hid on the stage behind the piano while we cheered. Then they could just pop out and play the encore.
- They hid under one of the cloaks while we cheered ourselves to death.
- The last encore song was a rock version of The Way I Am.
- I was invited back stage by Ingrid herself. The band told me how awesome I was and how they never want to leave Utah because they just made a new best friend (me). After it stopped snowing we all went out for hot chocolate and just talked and laughed about how great life is. I was up so late with Ingrid, Allie, Bess, and the boys, but it was totally worth it.
That last part isn't true. But oh, how I wish it was.
(a little link-happy today...)
