What I Like In Cambodia, Episode 3

Guess who made it back from the beach all sunburned tan and pumped for the last two weeks in Cambodia. That would be me. And what else could I give you but another edition of What I Like in Cambodia?

Today's edition is all about spirit houses. They are everywhere! When I first got here I had no idea what was going on, but I kept noticing these tiny little houses outside everyone's normal houses. They usually have incense burning in them and other small things placed nearby. It wasn't until I received a little education on the culture here that I learned what they are. They are called spirit houses and they come from a tradition that pre-dates Buddhism (the dominant religion here). It is basically a shrine for spirits that could cause problems for the people if not appeased. Cool, huh?

Coming up: an update on my lovely beach vacation!

In other news, 15 days until I go home!
