to fathers (mine most specifically)

watch:
There were so many videos I saw this week that I wanted to share, but I think this one was my most favorite. Soooo cute!

look:
Yesterday was my dad's birthday. I wish I could have been there to celebrate with the fam, but instead I looked at some old pictures of us together that I love.
Clearly I'm thrilled about the horses.
You can see that I started the "angry resting face" at a young age.
This is one of my favorite pictures ever. I just love how tight we are hugging!
Celebrating my birthday last year.
When I was home this summer, one of my favorite things to do was to go find my dad (usually outside or working in his shop) and just sit and hang out. We would usually end up talking about something that was just what I needed to hear. Sometimes it was me venting about a problem, sometimes we talked about spiritual things, sometimes we talked about memories, sometimes we talked about challenges in life or how to keep the commandments in this world, sometimes we didn't talk and I would just hold a tool for him while he built something awesome. Whatever we ended up doing during those times when it was just us I always enjoyed it.

I'm a lot like my dad, and we really get each other. We have similar personalities, the same sense of humor, and we have a lot in common (I even give him credit for my "angry resting face"). I am so blessed to have him in my life and to be so close to him. My dad is one of my best friends. He has always been one of the first people I go to when I need help, answers, a good joke, a funny story, inspiration, or just some encouragement during a tough time. He has a strong testimony and is a great example of a worthy priesthood holder. I have learned so much from my dad. He is full of wisdom and I know I can talk to him about anything. I love you Dad! Happy birthday!
