That last post was a doozy. I'll make this one quicker:
Day 2 in Arizona consisted of the following:
1. Church: we started at the singles ward but it reminded us a little of the mutants at table 9 (skip to 1:55) so we ended up at the family ward.
2. Lunch: Brittani's mom said it was just going to be a small easy lunch, like sandwiches or cereal. We all headed to the kitchen and within seconds there were sandwiches, homemade salsa, eggs and toast flying around the kitchen (0-60 in about 20 seconds).
3. Naps: blanket on the floor, shades drawn, children quiet, sleeeeep.
4. 20 Questions: I woke up before the other adults so it was just me and the kids. To keep us all occupied we played several rounds of 20 questions. I think we were all educated on new animals and the infinite possibilities of questions. There are a lot of questions you can ask in ten rounds of 20 questions.
5. Dinner: DINNER WAS AMAZING. Salad, garlic broccoli, sour dough bread, Italian rosemary potatoes, and steak. I couldn't stop eating until the food was all put away and unavailable.
6. Cookies and a movie: My contribution to the day was making cookies (apparently I have impressive cookie-making skills, news to me). I made cookies with Brittani's and Gabriella's help while we all watched Cheaper By the Dozen. Success
7. We all laid around recovering from the massive food consumption of the last few hours and fell in and out of sleep until we finally gave in and went to bed.
It was a great day. It was so fun to spend time with someone's awesome family and just be together with nothing scheduled. Just a day to relax.
Again, no pictures. Trust me, I really wish I had some for you. That story comes soon.
