That's right folks. Another stye. For those readers who don't know me as well as other readers, I get styes very frequently. Every couple months I would say.
For those readers who aren't as familiar with styes as other readers, a stye is an infected tear duct. An infected tear duct that gets red and swollen and painful.
What happens when I get a stye?
1. denial: "It's not a stye, I'm just paranoid."
2. anger: "Seriously?!? Another stye? Why is this happening to me?? Is this gonna be forever?"
3. depression: "(whimpering)"
4. acceptance: "Ok, fine, another stye. I'll throw away my mascara and eyeliner. Again."
5. action: throw away my mascara, throw away my eyeliner, go a day or two without make up (sometimes three or four or until I can't stand it), suck it up and buy new make up, again.
Solution for the disposal and obtaining of new make up? My mom found nice mascara for really cheap at the dollar store or something and sent me about 10 of them. Now they really are disposable.
Solution for the days of going without make up? Don't really go anywhere I don't have to. And explain to everyone I see that I have a stye and don't usually look like this.
Solution for the frequency of styes? Haven't figured that one out yet. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Tomorrow is the last day of the challenge and I won't be wearing any make up for the photos. You have that to look forward to.

Hey there: My name is Melissa Dahl, and I'm a writer for TODAY.com. I'm actually finishing up a story on women who've gotten eye infections after using beauty products. A stye is a super, super common one. I'd love to talk to you about it -- especially since you know the drill: Throw out your makeup and buy new products (sigh).
If you're interested, e-mail me at melissa.dahl@msnbc.com.
Best,
