As seen previously, I made a pennant/bunting/banner thing for my friend's baby shower. I have seen dozens of them on Pinterest and used that as my inspiration. I found one that had actual measurements and I created my own pattern based on that.
Supplies:
- 1/4 yard of 4 different calico prints
- less than that of the fabric for the letters.
- 2 packages of 1/2-inch bias tape
- paper, to create pattern
- scissors
- sewing machine
- pins
- triangle pattern: 30 cm on each side, 22 cm across the top, bisecting measurement is 29 cm
Using basic printer paper I cut out the triangle pattern, and the fabric pieces. I hand-drew the letters to make the patterns and cut those pieces out.
I matched up the triangle pieces with the right sides together and sewed up both sides. You can leave the top edge alone because you'll sew it later. I turned all of those right side out and pressed them.
Then using iron-on fusible stuff I ironed on all the letters to the triangles.
I used 1/2-inch bias tape for the string and pinned all the triangles. Using bias tape is awesome because it's a fun way to accent with color and it finishes the top of each triangle for you!
The morning of the shower I quickly ran it through my sewing machine to finish it off. I only sewed the part where the triangle was. I thought about sewing the entire length of the bias tape but I didn't have time.
Here's the final product! I'm really proud of how cute it turned out, especially for basically making my own pattern.
I might go back and top stitch all the triangles to make it look more finished. Other than that, I love it!

I can't believe you went to the extra effort to do the finished edges with right sides together and everything! You are awesome and the bunting is adorable
