I love finding ideas for crafts and decorations on Pinterest and I have created many of them. This project was for the last frame on my frame wall and it came from Pinterest, of course. And, of course, I didn't look at any directions. I just looked at the picture and the caption.
It was this picture:
With this caption: Elmer's Glue art
Pretty simple, right? And I even saw another one that suggested painting over the glue. What a great idea!
And so it began.
I started with my sketch.
Then the glue. This was kind of a painstaking process. It took a long time and I wasn't very happy with how it looked.
After it was all said and done I was ended up being pretty pleased with it. And I knew it would look better when I painted it. I let it dry over night and the morning only brought disappointment. The glue had totally flattened as it dried. I should have taken a picture but I was too mad.
I decided to do some research. By research I mean CLICKING ON THE LINK in Pinterest. Not that hard. I should have started there. She used puffy paint. PUFFY PAINT. Some genius saw that picture and thought "Oh, I bet Elmer's glue would dry just like that picture." LIES. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciated the ingenuity and creativity but next time let's take a fraction of a second and click through the link to see exactly how to achieve the picture.
Luckily I was at the craft store a couple days later and picked up a bottle of puffy paint for a measly dollar. The next afternoon was spent painstakingly redoing what I had already done. It looked much better and I was really happy with it.
After a few layers of paint.
And in the frame.
Frame wall complete! Yay!

Amanda, I'm in love with your frame wall. And your creativity. My Pinterest list keeps growing and growing. And I know better than to think I'm actually gonna execute any of those projects. So good for you!
Bummer about the glue, but it ended up turning out awesome!
