As previously mentioned, I started a "frame wall". It's more like a "frame area", but you get the idea. Last Wednesday I had the evening free so I decided to start on some ideas I had for a couple frames. I was planning on only getting a couple frames done but once I started I couldn't stop.
All of these ideas came from pinterest. I don't know what I would do without that thing.
I got a couple big art boards and decided to use those instead of canvas. Turns out they were a great idea because they really came in handy.
This is a piece of art board painted red. Then I dipped a star-shaped cookie cutter in white paint and stamped that thing like crazy.
This is art board painted white and then stamped with a heart-shaped cookie cutter dipped in gold paint.
This one is my favorite. I got a piece of nice off-white paper and a piece of red textured paper. I traced a floral pattern from an apron onto a piece of parchment paper (you could use tracing paper too). Then I divided the white paper into quarters and did 4 mirror images of the pattern I traced. Then I carefully and slowly cut out the pattern with an x-acto knife. I spray-mounted the white paper onto the red and voila! Botanical art. Boo yeah.
This is a close up so you can see the red paper a little better.
I saw this idea here and decided to make my own. I just used black paint and a paint brush and my own hand. I practiced a few times on newspaper to get the spacing right and to make sure the brush would do what I wanted it to.
This is the wall so far. That beautiful landscape was done by my grandpa. I've had it hanging in my bathroom but when I realized it fit in this frame I moved it to see how it looked. I think I'm going to keep it in the bathroom and find something else that goes better for the frame wall.
What started as a plan to get a couple frames done ended up being a night of crafting that I couldn't stop until I ran out of supplies and ideas. After having so much fun making all of these I started to worry what was going to happen after I fill up all the frames.
Maybe it will turn into a "frame wall".

This looks so cool Amanda! Awesome job with that floral one. You are so crafty. I actually thought the painting looked neat with those other colors-- a pop of unexpected :) But I am sure it looks beautiful in the bathroom too!
You are so talented. I love them! When are you going to start teaching a craft class? ;)
