craft update

By request, here are some details on the unicorn horn. I have to give a lot of credit to Abigail. She did a lot of the engineering and kept me calm. We make a great team :).

When I first made it, Abigail cut a hole on each side of the base of the cone, then fed a gold headband through the holes. It worked great in theory, but when I went out on Friday it didn't work so well. It felt a little unstable so I couldn't nod without the horn wobbling. I also couldn't bend over or really do very much with my head without it falling off.

I knew I would be partying a little harder on Saturday night so I had to revamp. I used some of the same gold ribbon that's around the horn and fed it through the holes. Then I sewed a piece of elastic to the ribbon so I could get it on and off. It worked wonderfully. I was dancing all over the place without a care in the world. Here are some close-ups:
